We are pleased to announce that Ronald Ashton has joined the DMS design llc team as Senior Project Manager!
Ron is a registered architect and an established project manager, carrying more than 40 years of experience under his belt. Skilled in a wide range of architectural and design processes, he is proficient in project management, code review, specification, project scheduling, ADA compliance, certification processes, and QAQC reviews. Ron’s wealth of architectural experience encompasses a diverse range of sectors. His past work includes life sciences and biotechnology facilities, educational institutions, medical facilities, government and municipal building and office development. His robust knowledge in the field enables him to effectively oversee projects from beginning to end. Ron holds LEED AP credentials and is a member of the AIA and the Boston Society of Architects.
Ron values his quiet time and enjoys researching the arts, technology, and current events. He finds joy in various pastimes, including ballroom dancing, playing speed chess and board games, and watercolor painting.

In today`s world of remote and hybrid work schedules, employers are finding new ways to make the office an enticing workplace. Collaborating with Fulton Properties, DMS design llc recently completed an interior renovation of an office building in Charlestown, MA, transforming a previously unused area into a contemporary and welcoming coworking space.
This renovation added a new kitchen, mother`s room and family bathroom, and the existing bathrooms were updated with new fixtures and finishes. The coworking space consists of lounge seating, high top tables, and a shared, powered workstation for collaboration.
We are happy to hear that this space is already in use from the tenants. Even small upgrades can make a big impact on its current and future users!

Did you catch Governor Maura Healey’s press conference on 3/15 announcing the Commercial Conversion Initiative? The DMS design, llc team attended last Friday’s press conference, held at the site of one of our newest projects; an office-to-residential conversion in Worcester!
We had the privilege of hearing from several esteemed leaders including Lt. Governor Kimberly Driscoll, Massachusetts Secretary of Housing Ed Augustus, and Executive Director of MassHousing Chrystal Kornegay who discussed the programs, funding, and tax incentives backing the exploration of repurposing underutilized commercial buildings to provide immediate housing to communities that need it most. We are trailblazers in this initiative, as this groundbreaking project marks one of the first conversions of its size to be carried out in the state.

Sometimes, a statement piece is the much-needed finishing touch to make a space come to life. In this case, it’s a hanging motorcycle!
Let’s look back at this multifamily project for our client, The DSF Group. This 130-unit market rate apartment building is located in Salem, MA. As Architect-of-Record, we were asked to incorporate a vintage motorcycle into this modern meets retro interior. What better way to achieve this than to suspend it from the ceiling, giving residents and guests a 360-degree view of the bike.
This 4-story complex has a well-equipped amenity center packed with a two-story fitness center, coworking space, game room with ping-pong and foosball tables, tv room, and a rooftop deck with grills, firepits, and a turf area with lawn games.

DMS announces Brendan Clifford has recently been promoted to the position of Job Captain!
Brendan has been an integral part of our team, consistently demonstrating excellence in his work. Holding a master’s degree in architecture from Wentworth Institute of Technology, and the past three years of working on all aspects of DMS client projects, Brendan brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. He will be taking on a leadership role in this new position, assisting our project managers with production assignments, coordination with engineers, and client communications. Brendan is a team player, Revit whiz, and one of the most reliable and hardworking people we know. We have no doubt that he will excel in this position!
